ALCIE EDWARD WILLIS passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Merit Health River Region Medical Center, He was 89 years of age. Born in Montgomery County, MS to the late Samuel Everett Willis and Ella Mae Ray Willis, he was raised in Port Gibson, graduating from
Port Gibson High School. His love of printing started when he worked at The Port Gibson Reveille after high school. He then moved to Vicksburg and spent most of his printing career as manager of The Office Supply Company, He retired after 40 plus years in printing, having also served as the County Voting Machine Administrator for a number of years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his wives; Sherrill Martin Willis and Myra Ervin Willis, his children: Randall Keith Willis, Pamela Ann Willis Rials and Alvin Edward Willis. Brothers; James Willis and Willie Willis. Sisters; Helen Ruth Herrin and Dot Roy and stepdaughter Sharon Marshall.
He is survived by his caregiver and daughter-in-law Michele May Willis and his stepson Darryl Martin. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren and their spouses: Carl Willis (Baylee), Randall Willis (Morgan), Michael Rials, Jr. (Dayna), April Fisher (Chris), and Brian Rials (Samantha), 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, Sisters-in-law: Julie Ervin and Martha E. Taylor and Brother-in-Law: Ronald T. Wooley.
Services will be at 12 Noon Saturday, August 17 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home at 5000 Indiana Avenue in Vicksburg, MS. Visitation will be from 10am until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Tony Monk.
Pallbearers will be William Cook, Pat Daughtry, Tom Houseal, John Arnold, Billy Bratcher and Chris Gillis. Honorary Pallbearers are Carl Willis, Randall Willis, Julie Ervin and Martha Taylor.
The family would like to thank Lisa Powell with Gentiva Hospice, and Candi, his 5 th floor nurse at
Merit Health River Region for their care of Ed at the end.
