Alma Elizabeth "Beth" Brooks died Wednesday, October 10, 2019.She was 90.Mrs. Brooks was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg.She was the daughter of the late Ben Bolt Beard and Mamie Mae Fletcher Beard.She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Ray Brooks; a daughter, Vivian Jean Brooks; and a brother, Benjamin E. "Buddy" Beard.She is survived by two sons, Claude Ray Brooks, II (Eileen) of Pinehurst, NC and Donald Brooks (Marlene) of Vicksburg; three grandchildren:Claude Ray Brooks, III (Jennifer), Benjamin Blair Brooks (Sharla), and Marla Beth Yates (Tim); six great-grandchildren:Henry Brooks, Avery Brooks, Marlie Yates, Reed Yates, Marissa Yates, and Aaron Yates; and three sisters:Louise Smith of Madisonville, TX; Linnie Daugherty of San Jacinto, TX, and Ann Dykes of Flora, MS. Visitation will be 1 PM to 3 PM Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Riles Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Anderson officiating.Pallbearers will be Claude "Beau"Brooks, III, Benjamin Brooks, Henry Brooks, Todd Purser, Eddie Adcock, and Quinn McClurg.Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
