Anita Speed passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Merit Health Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 5, 1960 to the late Elbert Ray and Florence Margaret Cockrell. Anita was a devoted wife and loving mother. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Speed; her son, Eric Cockrell; her grandchildren, Madisyn and Brooklyn Cockrell. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Scott Speed Jr; her parents Elbert and Margaret Cockrell,  Brother, Philip Clanton. A memorial service will be held 3 PM on Wednesday June 7, 2023 at Fisher-Riles  Funeral Home, 1830  Cherry Street. Visitation will be from 1 PM until the hour of service.
