Mahoney
April 22, 1922 – May 27, 2020
Annie Mae Salmon Mahoney was born on April 22, 1922 and passed to her heavenly home peacefully May 27, 2020 at the age of 98 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg and a graduate of Saint Francis Xavier Academy in 1940 of which she was extremely proud and had many fond memories. She married her sweetheart Louis Frank Mahoney in February 1941. They were married for 40 years and had seven children, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
Because of her love of the Lord and the devotion to her church Annie was blessed with a serving spirit. She served in and through her church St. Paul Catholic in the Altar Society, Sodality of Our Lady, Miraculous Medal as well as her community with Meal On Wheels, Right To Life and Bingo at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was always free to minister to others and most certainly did so over many years. She was selfless, kind and loving and a true friend to many people throughout her life.
As the oldest of 11 children and at the passing of her mother Mary Salmon (Riddle), age 96, she became the matriarch of a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Mahoney, parents James and Mary Salmon(Riddle), 2 sons Terry and Mickey Mahoney, her brothers Buddy Salmon and wife Dolores, Mike Riddle, Albert Riddle, Donnie Riddle, sisters Rita Evans and her husband Bobby, Pat Middleton and her husband Robert, Barbara Cesare and her husband John, brother-in-law Don Bucci, sons-in-law, Mike Pope and Wayne Cook, daughter-in-law, Eileen Mahoney.
She is survived by her daughters Pamela Cook of Houma, LA, Colleen Wells(David) and Karen Pope and sons John Mahoney and Kevin Mahoney(Stacey), brother, Billy Riddle(Shirley), all of Vicksburg, sisters, Margaret Bucci and Betty Rooks of Madison, sisters-in-law Anita King, Inky Riddle, and Beryl Kay Riddle and all of her 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
