Barbara Jamison Sager, age 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family.
Barbara was born on February 26, 1948, to Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Jamison. She was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg and a member of the first graduating class at Warren Central High School, the Class of 1966. Her fondest childhood memories were growing up in Letourneau with her large family and many friends. Barbara's favorite pass times were spending time with her 3 children and 9 grandbabies, lunch with her sisters on "sister's day", and playing bridge with her friends.
Barbara is preceded in death by her father, T.A. Jamison; her mother, Mary Pearl Jamison; sisters, Maxine Jamison, Ruthie Jamison Harrel, and Linda Jamison Richardson; nieces, Donna Hynum and Charlie Whittington; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Brooks.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard A. Sager of Vicksburg, MS; children, Margaret Hanes (Tommy Baker) of Vicksburg, MS, Amy (Brad) Taylor of Spanish Fort, AL and Rick Sager of Laurel, MS; grandchildren Chase Hanes, Chad Hanes, Emily Taylor, Lauren Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Kara Christian, Sarah Grace Berry, Sydney Sager and Mary Sager; sisters Patsy Brown of Natchez, MS and Diana Brooks of Madison, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She cherished and loved all of her family.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home on Indiana Avenue. Funeral Services will follow immediately at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Mincer Minor officiating.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to her primary health care provider Kay McDaniel, NP for always being a source of comfort and care throughout her illness. Also, they thank the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their amazing support at the end of Barbara's life here on earth.
