Betty Aliene Worthy passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.  She was 86 years old.  Born in Greenville, MS on March 10, 1939 to the late Louis Montgomery Worthy and Myrtle Beatrice Worthy.  She was a resident of Vicksburg for most of her adult life.  Betty retired from Cooper Lighting after 45 years of service.  She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and the Eastern Star, Hyland Chapter Number 56.  Betty was strong in her faith and devoted to her family.  She never married or had children, but she helped raise and nurture all of her nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse George Worthy and Louis Reid Worthy, Sr.; three sisters, Pat Worthy, Susie Ward and Mary Rose Phillips.

She is survived by numerous generations of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from Noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue  followed by a memorial service.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of the medical staff who took care of Ms. Betty; especially Dr. Olatunji Oluwatade, Amanda Gill, CFNP, Morgan Caulfield, PA-C, Dr. Dawinder S. Sohal and Frenesius Kidney Care.
