Bill Raymond "Billy Ray" Carroll died Monday, July 14, 2020 at Merit Health River Region Medical Center.  He was 71.  A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, he was the son of the late John Charles Carroll and Betty J. Carroll.  In addition to his parents, Billy Ray was preceded in death by a son, Bill Raymond "Ray" Carroll, Jr.; two brothers, James B. Carroll, Sr.,  J. W. Carroll, and a sister, Jean Muirhead.  He is survived by his wife, Kathy Carroll;  three daughters: Kristy Wilkinson(Andy), Kacey Richmond(Richard) and Megan Roberts(Dustin); a  sister, Bunny Stringer and 7 grandchildren. Anyone who knew Billy Ray knew he loved his family especially his grandbabies. He was an avid fisherman who longed for the day he could be reunited with his son and spoke about going home to be with him often.

WE would like to thank everyone who gave him comfort in his final days especially the nursing staff at Shady Lawn Nursing Home who were his family the last 4 months. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
