Bobby Joe Herrod Sr. passed away Feb 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Born Oct. 6 1943 in Pascagoula and raised in Natchez, MS, Mr. Herrod had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1964. He was retired from International Paper after 43 years of employment. Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family for just about any capacity, tinkering on projects around the house, and maybe a beer or two.

He was preceded in death by his father, L.P. Herrod and his In-Laws, Henry Jr and Lorine Cook. He is survived by his mother, Mattie Catherine Herrod;  wife of 59 years,  Louise Cook Herrod; Sons,  Bobby Joe Herrod Jr and Christopher Michael Herrod; Daughter,  Deborah Herrod Ederington (Charles);  grandchildren,  Courtney Ederington Middleton (Mack) and Gage Dixon Ederington;  great grandchild,  Wade Bayliss Middleton;  brother,  Ronald Gene Herrod (Linda);  sister,  Martha Herrod Jordan (Jamie) and several nieces and nephew.

Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 3 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Ave.,  with services at 1 p.m.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers  will be Joe Herrod, Chris Herrod, Charles Ederington, Gage Ederington, Mack Middleton and Daniel Herrod.  Honorary pallbearers will be his brother, Ronnie Herrod, his nephews and good friends,  Richard Ables ,  Jimmy Vinson and Mike Craft.
