Brenda Carol Caviness Smith passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Merit-Health River Region Hospital in Vicksburg, MS.  She was 73.  Brenda was born March 23, 1948 in Hushpuckena, MS to Elmer O. Caviness, Sr. and Alice Virginia Cochan Caviness.

Brenda is survived by her life partner, Lawrence Lovette of 25  years.  Her six sons, Charles (Ben) Smith of Tupelo, MS,  James (Jimmy) Smith, Danny O. Smith, Ronald (Ronnie) Smith, John Champ Smith and Christoiper (Chris) Smith, all of Vicksburg; her three brothers, James Caviness, Robert Caviness and Elmer Caviness, Jr.; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charles Caviness; two sisters, Debbie Coursey and Martha Jo Brown; and her beloved son, Donald Glenn Smith.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home,  5000 Indiana Avenue in Vicksburg at 10 a.m. until Noon followed by services at Noon.

Brenda had been through a lot in her lifetime, but she never gave up.  She loved her family unconditionally.  All she ever wanted was peace and quite.  She will truly be missed by many.  She was a mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.  You can rest now in peace and quite Bren.
