Carl Dorman Dees, 92, peacefully passed away on April 21, 2021, in Houston, Texas. He was born In Vicksburg on February 5, 1929, to Harold and Nettie Dees. Dorman spent his early years in Vicksburg. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving his country proudly. He returned to Vicksburg after his service where he met the love of his life, Wilma Mae Bennett, while she was attending the Sisters of Mercy Nursing School. Dorman moved his young family to Houston, Texas and became a barber and later owned of his own shop for many years. Dorman had a great laugh. His laughter was contagious. He was always the first one to make fun of himself and created many memories for us to cherish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Nettie Dees, and his beloved wife, Wilma Mae of 56 years.
Dorman is survived by his two sons, Monte and Greg Dees, twin granddaughters, Alicia and Felicia, and two great grandchildren, Ellie Mae and Alex, all from Houston. He leaves one sister, Patricia O'Brien, of Allen, Texas.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 28th at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue, from 10:00am to 12:00 noon. Graveside services will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
