Cathy Ring Powell of Chattanooga, TN passed away on September 4, 2022, peacefully in her sleep.  She  was 75.

Cathy was born in Vicksburg, MS on February 23, 1947 to John Owen and Gertrude Ring.  She graduated from St. Francis Xavier Academy and Mississippi State College for Women with a bachelor' degree in interior design.  She was an interior designer as a young adult and retired from Dillard's in 2013.  She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and antiquing.  She is survived by her husband, Lantz Powell; her children, Lantz Powell (Kathleen), James  Powell (Amy), and Owen Powell (Danielle); her granddaughter, Gibson Gertrude Lyn Powell; brothers, John Ring (Lin) and Charles Ring (Jeanette); and sister-in-law, Roblyn Ring, and well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Pat Ring.

A graveside service will be held at Yokena Cemetery on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11 AM.
