Charles Dewey Williams, age 78, ofStarkville, MS, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at University of MS Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born July 19, 1940 in Vicksburg, MS to the late George H. Williams Sr and Ida Mae (Williams)Leake. Charles retired from Skills Unlimited. In his spare time he loved to work in puzzle books, play cards and tell jokes. Charles was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of Truth Tabernacle Church inStarkville, MS. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie Williams ofStarkville, MS; brother, George Williams of Connecticut; daughter, Beth (Allen) Chandler ofStarkville, MS; grandchildren, Alexis Richardson & Cory Meyers, both of Baton Rouge, LA and great grandchild, Luca Richardson. Pallbearers will be Richard Wilkerson, Ronald Byrd, Charles White,OdieHartley , Allen Chandler and Cory Meyers. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, December 8, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. followed by graveside services at Cedar Hill Cemetery, also in Vicksburg.
