Charlie Melvin Burdine died Friday, April 3, 2020 at his home in Pearl, MS He was 79. Mr.
Burdine was a born in Choctaw County to the late Charles Melvin Burdine and Christine Phelps
Burdine. He was a graduate of Eupora High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had
been a resident of Pearl for over 50 years. He retired from the trucking industry after serving as
a safety instructor. He also owned and operated a road service for trucking and drove over the
road for many years. He was a member of Truitt Memorial Baptist Church where he as a
member of the Studious Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a son, Patrick Lane Hopkins. Survivors include his wife, Earline Moseley Burdine; his
son, Charles M. Burdine of Durango, CO; four daughters: Teresa Wilkes of Hamlet, NC, Tama
Burdine of Augusta, GA, Kathy Webb (Doug) of Hope, AR, and Alicia Burdine of Rockingham, NC;
daughter-in-law, Amy White Hopkins of Vicksburg, MS; welve grandchildren; and eight great-
grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
