Damon Jeremy "DJ" Sanders, 41, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

A resident of Vicksburg for his entire life, DJ was born to Jay and Donita Sanders on September 24, 1979. DJ attended Warren Central High School and Porters Chapel Academy where he loved to play pranks and football. Straight out of high school, DJ immediately began working hard to start his own business in Excavation. He had a passion for his work and it showed with the success that quickly followed. He continued his business and dabbling in farming his entire life, and had recently gotten excited about his future in cow farming. DJ had a love for fishing and cows, but his biggest passion was his wife and son who he was so proud of. DJ is survived by his wife of 16 years, Amber Sanders of Vicksburg and their son Jon Cole Sanders, 14. He is also survived by his parents, Jay and Donita Sanders, as well as his grandparents Virginia Tullos, and the late Jimmy Tullos as well as the late Willard Sanders. He also leaves behind an extended family who loved him very much. DJ did not have any siblings, but had a group of friends that he considered his band of brothers. All who knew DJ, will miss him very much.

A Memorial Service  will be held on  Friday, May 14, 2021 at 10:00 at Fisher-Riles on Indiana Avenue. There will not be a visitation prior to service.
