David Leist Bliss, Sr. passed away at his home surrounded by his family on February 24, 2021. He was 68.

David was born on February 11, 1953 in Vicksburg, MS to Ural James Bliss, Sr. and Lula Bufkin Bliss. He is survived by the love of his life of 44 years, Sara Gee Bliss; one son, David Bliss Jr.; one daughter, Ava Bliss; his pride and joy his grandson, Dalton Bliss; his brother Ural "Bubba" Bliss, Jr. (Donna); his loving in-laws Lucius and Allene Dabney; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; nieces and nephews; and his best friend of 40 years, Gerry White.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents; his sisters: Elizabeth Anne Bliss and Carmelia Hamblin.  David worked at Vicksburg Chemical Company for over 30 years.  He loved being with his family, being outdoors and football.  He was a member of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 27 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue.  Visitation will be from 10 AM until the hour of service.  Interment will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gerry White, Wayne Scott, Sherwood Lyons, Donny Lee, Mike Flannagan, and Tommy Crutchfield.
