Donnie Steve Daniels passed away on Tuesday, September 3 in Cookeville, TN at the age of 92.  Born in Carpenter, MS, He moved to Vicksburg in 1963.  He retired from Waterways Experiment Station (now ERDC) as a welder and had been a resident of Cookeville, TN since 2014.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Daniels and Bertie Quinn; his wife, Peggy Daniels; two brothers, Floyd Daniels and Claude Daniels; a sister, Ruby Panel.

He is survived by two sons, David Ward Daniels (Priscilla) of Vicksburg and Danny Cowart (Nawaporn) of Maryland; a daughter, Louanne Myers (Troy) of Cookeville, TN; five grandsons:  Nathan Weathersby (Lindsey), Caleb Myers (Madison), Joshua Myers (Lacey), Steven Cowart, Aaron Cowart; and 15 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 9 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home at 5000 Indiana Avenue in Vicksburg.  Visitation will be from 9 AM until the hour of service.  Interment will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Joshua Myers, Caleb Myers, Troy Myers, and Mike Jones.
