Edwin L. "Buddy" Boren died May 18, 2024 at the age of 83.  He was born in Stringtown, MS on September 7, 1940 to Amos F. Boren and Edith Cunningham Boren.  He graduated from Greenville High School and Mississippi State University with a degree in Civil Engineering.   He worked 32 years for the Corps of Engineers and Mississippi River Commission.  He was a beloved member of Christ Episcopal Church.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Florence Murphy Boren, his parents, his sisters, Doris Lindsey and Lena Berry, and his brother, Thomas Boren (Kay).  He is survived by his sons, Ed Boren (Linda), Paul Boren, Blake Boren, and Bo Morrissey, his daughters, Andrea Palmertree and Kelly M. Stevens, and a brother-in-law,Tem Murphy.  He was Pop to Blakele P. Howell (Spence), Alex Stevens, Kathleen Murphy, Lauren M. Burks (Skyler), Shelby S. Rankin (Reid), Sara M. Black (Bob), Wilson Palmertree, and great-granddaughter Blair Burks.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19 at 2:30 pm at Christ Episcopal Church.  Services will follow at 3 pm.
