Ellen Emmich, long time Vicksburg resident, was born on October 9, 1954 in Pittsburgh, PA, the first child of Robert N. "Bob" Emmich and Ann Grundfest Emmich Gerache.  She passed away on September 29, 2025 after a difficult and long illness.  Ellen was an artist and creative soul who took great pride in her creations and shared them widely with her family and friends.

Preceding her in death was her father, Bob Emmich.

She is survived by her mother, Ann Gerache; her brother, Robert N. Emmich, Jr. and wife Carey of Madison, MS and their children Brooke Emmich of Madison and Sarah Emmich Fernald along with her husband James Fernald and their children, Norah and Wesley of Richmond, VA; her sister Kathy E. Friedman of Dallas, TX and her children Mory Friedman and his fiancé Sarah of Albuquerque, NM, Shelby Friedman Kendler and husband Ron of Alexandria, VA; and sister Gayle Emmich of Rockville, MD.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 4:15 PM at the Temple Anshe Chesed Cemetery officiated by Rabbi Salem Pearce.

The family would like to thank Katha Webster for her loving care of Ellen in her final months as well as the staff at Castlewoods Assisted Living in Brandon, MS.  In lieu of flowers the family requests any contribution in Ellen's memory to the charity of your choosing.
