Emilie J. Moore died Wednesday August 22, 2018 at the Heritage House Nursing Center. She was 91. Memorial Services are Sunday August 26, at Crawford Street United Methodist Church immediately following the 11:00 AM worship service with the Rev Don Williams, former pastor, officiating. Memorials may be made to Crawford Street United Methodist Church.
She was born August 13, 1927 in Clermont, Florida. Her father was Augustus Gibson Moore and her mother was Frankie Renfroe Moore. She was preceded in death by five brothers and her sister, Mary King of Vicksburg, MS.
She earned a BS from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, an MA from Scarritt College in Nashville, Tennessee, and a Doctor of Ministry from Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, Tennessee.
The last 30 years of her work life were in Christian ministry including as Director of Wesley Foundation, Mississippi College for Women, Director of Christian Education and Program for Churches in the Florida and Mississippi Conferences of the United Methodist Church, taught Wednesday Morning Bible Study for 22 years, and served on the staff of Crawford Street Methodist Church in Vicksburg.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
