Ernest Ely Wallace, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 18 at the age of 81.  Mr. Wallace was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg and the son of the late Ernest Ely Wallace, Sr. and Sadie Thompson Wallace. Ernest was truly a pure, kind, and gentle soul.  He had a great love for all types of music and was an encyclopedia of music history.  He was a member of the Vicksburg Church of Christ and a former employee of MIDD-West Industries.  Ernest deeply loved all of his friends at the Vicksburg Church of Christ, MIDD-West Industries, Magnolia Manor Apartments, and elsewhere.

In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death two brothers,  John Steve Wallace and Dale Thomas Wallace.

He is survived by two brothers, Patrick Wheeler Wallace and Craig Thompson Wallace (Tammy) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29 at 10 am at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue.  Visitation will be from 9 am until the hour of service.  Interment will follow at Yokena Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be  Brent Wallace, Ely Wallace, Caleb Wallace, Patrick Wallace, II, Marqus Washington, and Timothy Shane Welch, Jr.
