Obituary

On January 31, 2019, Ethel Madeline Dove of Vicksburg, went to be with the Lord. She was 91. She was born on June 25, 1927 to Robert and Emma Hays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Janie Stuart and Rosa Braxton; brother, Murray Hays; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Parkerson; and two grandchildren, Richard Poole and Erica Hodges. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Ethel worked at Presley's Truck Stop for many years and was affectionately known as "Dovie". Ethel is survived by five sons, Albert Parkerson, A.J. McDuff, Mike McDuff, Dale McDuff and Billy McDuff; one sister, Wilma Davenport and three brothers, William Hays, Harold Hays and Bill Hays. She was also blessed with 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 4 at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Pallbearers will be Billy Hays, Eddie Hays, Austin McDuff, Gaylon Owens, Heath McDuff and Roger McDuff. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Huskey, Martin Pace. Paul Guin, Robert Andress and Bob Hays and members of the Trinity Baptist Church and the staff of The Bluffs Rehabilitation Center.
