Frances Nell Ray, 101, passed away in Houston, Texas, after a lengthy illness. Born on September 13, 1924, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Frances made Vicksburg her lifelong home, where she built a life centered on family, and the values of a simpler time.

She is survived by her daughter, Sonia Bess (Ray), and grandson Garrett Bess of Wellington, Colorado; her son William Ray and daughter-in-law Sandra Ray of Montgomery, Texas; and her grandsons Dakota Ray of Austin, Texas, and Colton and Anna Ray of Frisco, Texas. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Recie Ray, as well as many beloved members of the Boler family of Warren County.

Frances was known as a devoted caregiver, offering comfort, support, and love to family and friends throughout her life. She found joy in the outdoors, tending to plants, cooking for those she loved, and embracing her role as a mother and wife. Her greatest peace came from memories of family gatherings and the "simple country life" she cherished from her younger years.

Her long life was a testament to resilience, generosity, and the strength that defined her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24 from 10 am until 11:30 am at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue in Vicksburg, MS. Interment will follow at Noon at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dakota Ray, Colton Ray, Garrett Bess, Mike Boler and Johnnie Nosser.
