"Frank" Derossette
July 17, 1957 – September 6, 2019
Francis Carmel "Frank" DeRossette went to be with our Lord on Friday, September 6, 2019, in Vicksburg surrounded by his children and loved ones. Frankie, 62, was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg.
He attended St. Francis Xavier Academy and graduated from Saint Aloysius High School in 1975. He grew up in the Catholic Churches of Vicksburg.
Frank was an avid fisherman and his greatest joy was his family. God was number one in his life and the guiding force in raising his children and later his grandchildren. Frankie never met a stranger and was loved by all for great wit and sharp mind.
He spent most of his years as a master mechanic working in the oil fields all over the world. He started as a roustabout and worked his way up to senior motorman and then moved into administration focusing on safety and environmental work. He traveled the world with companies including Shell Oil, BP, Exxon Mobil, Transocean, and Pride. He was in upper-level management in the Kizomba B Project in Angola, South Africa. Frankie was valued in all these positions because of his phenomenal abilities and received hundreds of safety awards throughout the years.
He also worked with Stevens Service Center while his children were growing up. He came to be known as one of the best auto mechanics in the area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace C. and Concetta DeRossette; his former wife, Angie M. DeRossette, his aunt, Mattie Canizaro, and his uncle, James Canizaro.
He is survived by his three children, Thomas Christopher "Chris" DeRossette, Angela Rose DeRossette, and Aubree' Ann Spann (Dustin) all of Vicksburg and three grandchildren, Mason, Caleb, Cayleigh Spann. He is also survived by one aunt, Angela Canizaro, and three sisters, Angela Thomson (Ralph) of Petal, Donna Hopkins of Vicksburg, and Janet Jackson of Vicksburg; six brothers Wally (Denise) of Clinton, Patrick, of Vicksburg, James (Theresa) of Hattiesburg, Tim (Lucy) of Vicksburg, Brian (Betty) of Huntsville, AL, and Matthew (Sally) of Vicksburg; and one half-sister, Becky Brasfeild (Rusty) of Vicksburg. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews,
His brothers will serve as Pallbearers.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, from 4 - 6 PM at Fisher Funeral Home. Funeral services will be led by Pastor Mike Fields of Triumph Church and assisted by Father Rusty Vincent of Saint Paul Catholic Church at Fisher Funeral Home on Monday, September 9 at 2 PM. Visitation will be at 1 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
