Frank W. Kappler, Jr. passed away at UMMC on December 9, 2023.  He was born on October 21, 1969 in Vicksburg, MS.  He was 54.  He was a graduate of Vicksburg High School, Class of 1988.  Frank was a lifetime resident of Vicksburg  until  he moved to Gulfport, MS in 2002, where he worked at Treasure Bay Casino.

He would come home every weekend to see family and friends.  Frank would take his nieces and nephews fishing, four wheeler riding, camping and hunting.  He was a family man and never met a stranger.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank W. Kappler, Sr. and Gloria Jean Kappler; his grandmothers, Bertha E. Jones and Lynette Copes  Donahoe;  his great niece, Nola Pugh.

Survivors include his brother, John W. Kappler (Sherry) of Virginia; sister, Bertha Jean Kappler of Vicksburg; his nieces and nephews, Tabitha Grantham, Stephanie Tate (Austin), Rebecca Tate, Stephen Tate, Jr. (Tessa), Joshua Pugh (Kayla), Korey Pugh (Maci); great nieces and nephews, Brooklyn, Jaxon, Kirsten, Shane, Lane, Ty, Aria, Elaina, Kyndall, Ryan, Torstien, Brendan, Brently, Keaton and Clayton.

Visitation will held on Thursday, December 14 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30  pm at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue.  Services will be  at 2:30 p.m.  with the Rev. Marvin Curtis officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John W. Kappler, Stephen Tate, Jr., Austin Griffin, Ricky Brown, Billy Adams, Kenny Williams, Robert Wayne Wilkerson, Stephen Tate, Sr. and Mark Segers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Pugh, Korey Pugh, Dr. Sam Pierce,  all  the Doctors and Nurses at Merit Health ER and UMMC ER and all employees of Treasure Bay Casino.
