Obituary

Glenda Lee Howard Normand, 85, passed on March 9, 2025 in Vicksburg.  She was born in Vicksburg,  MS and, other than a few years in Mobile, AL, lived her whole life in Vicksburg, graduating from Carr Central in 1958.  She was a housewife and mother but also worked at Happy Names where she was the main artist, was renowned as a wonderful oil painter, and did beautiful Christmas ornaments.  Many locals were the recipient of her hand-tatted crosses that she left all over town.

Mrs. Normand was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jerry Normand, her mother, Bertha Howard and her father, Bill Howard.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Normand Barnett (Jamie) of Courtland, MS, her son, David Normand (Jennifer) of Vicksburg, her grandchildren, Jamie (Kayla) Hardy, Haley Hardy Hanak (Matt), Will Hardy, Seth Barnett (Katlyn), and Marlee Barnett. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Molly Grace Hardy, Trip Hardy, Milo Hanak, Adalyn Barnett, and JB Brock.  She is also survived by two sisters, Billie Skinner and Edna Ruth Richardson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12 from 1 to 2 pm at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue with services to follow.   Interment will be  held at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers  will be  Jamie Barnett, Seth Barnett, Jamie Hardy, Will Hardy and staff of Fisher-Riles.
