Gloria Louise Machon, 91, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026 in Vicksburg, MS.

She was born September 23, 1934 in Canaan, NH to Pearl and Bertha Cross(Grace).  She was the youngest of five children.

Gloria worked at H.W. Carter and Sons then Dartmouth College, where she retired in 1994. Then moved to Vicksburg in 1995 and worked a few part time positions including Belk, Clear Creek Gold Course, Rainbow Casino and Managed Audobon Apartments for about 15 years.

She enjoyed golfing, camping, knitting, country music and going to Casino with her daughter, Annie.

She is survived by her five children, Dennis Tarr (Susan), Florida, Cheryl Vandevuurst (Paul), Tennesse, Karen Carroll (Robert), Mississippi, Kevin Machon, Texas and Annie Roberts, Vicksburg, MS;  ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by her parents, Bertha and Langley Withington and father, Pearl Cross; husband, Walter Roberts and her siblings, Phyllis Withington, Ellen Gowing, George Cross and Dorothy Kendall.

A visitation  will be held on Friday, February 27 from 10 am until Noon at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue.

Graveside services will follow in the summer at the Canaan Street Cemetery in Canaan, NH.
