Jack Andrew Holsomback died Monday, December 2, 2019 at the G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS.He was 83.Mr. Holsomback was born in Vicksburg to the late Jack Holsomback and Lida Mae Thompson Speyerer.He was a graduate of Carr Central High School.After high school he served in the United States Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam and retired in 1976 at the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.After his retirement from the Marine Corps, Mr. Holsomback enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi and received his Master's Degree and worked as a photojournalist after graduation.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Holsomback; two daughters, Terry Kellum and Lori Stevens; a sister, Jackie Holsomback Wilks; a brother, George Speyerer; and three grandsons: Eric Robinson, Lance Stevens, and Bobby Hilbun.He is survived by his wife, Gloria Lambert Holsomback; three sons, Rusty Holsomback of Hattiesburg, MS, Don Holsomback of Kansas City, MO, and Mark Robinson of North Hollywood, CA; two daughters, Ann Griffin and Vickie Henderson both of Vicksburg; a sister, Diane Speyerer; eleven grandchildren:Hope Lee, Jonathan Henderson, Joshua Free, Holly Hadad, Sarah Holsomback, and Lee Armistead, Kelsi Lee O'Neal, Amber Roberts, Savannah Holton, April Odom, and Drew Robinson; and eight great-granddchildren.Services will be 11 AM Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Riles Funeral Home.Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 5 PM to 7 PM and from 10 AM Thursday until the hour of service.Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Natchez National Cemetery in Natchez, MS.
