Obituary

Jim was born in Vicksburg, MS on May 20, 1946 to Jimmy and Dorothy Horn. He was raised as an only child- his sisters didn’t like it one bit! He leaves behind those sisters - Susan Webb (Tom) and Marilyn Hayward (Sonny), nephew Joel Webb (Tracy) and grand nephews Gavin, Hunter and Lawson Webb. And nieces and nephews Perry Anne Thimmes, Ragan Hayward, Sam Haest, and Mariel Haest.

He was known for taking evening drives in his Cadillac throughout Warren County. He would often pull to the side of the road to take a photo of a vibrant sunset or a deer in a field and send that picture to a friend. He communed with God through His creations. Jim was the definition of a southern gentleman. His mother certainly raised him right! He was a courteous, gentle soul, especially in his relationships with others, his sense of community, family ties and the things that are important to focus on as humans…as caring people. He was a friend to everyone. If you needed a hand or a ride or just wanted to enjoy time with an upbeat, positive friend, he was always available. Did you get a phone call on your birthday? Are you a national treasure? Will you miss the June 3rd reminder about Billy Joe McAllister? Jim was excited to celebrate his 80th birthday. He reminded us to cherish birthdays and the people that we care about. He thanked God for his many blessings and appreciated His gifts. What a fine legacy. In lieu of flowers, donate to your favorite charity or reach out to help a friend.

Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, June10 at 10AM at Wintergreen Cemetery Port Gibson, Mississippi
