James Hoyt O'Conner died Thursday, October 21, 2021.  He was 75.  Born in Strayhorn, MS, he had been a resident of Vicksburg for most of his adult life.  He was the son of the late Vardaman and Grace O'Conner.  He served in the Mississippi Army National Guard and was a retired electrician.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Price and Willie Mae Yount.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce O'Conner; his daughter, Cheryl Sudduth; three grandchildren: Benjhaman Sudduth, Draydon Sudduth, and Hannah Sudduth.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on  Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue.    Visitation will be from 11 a.m.  until the hour of service.
