James Vernon Wilson died Sunday August 27, 2017 at his home in Vicksburg.He was 86.Mr. Wilson was born in Neshoba County on September 11, 1930 to the late James Edward Wilson and Bessie Jackson Wilson.He had been a resident ofWarren Count for most of his life.He retired from Vicksburg Chemical Company in 1995and later worked for Baker Security.Mr. Wilson was a member of Warrenton Independent Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Rodgers Wilson and a sister, Ruth Osborne.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Sarah Weaver Wilson, two daughters, Emily Rose Oakes and Polly Darlene Frost, two sons, James Vernon Wilson, Jr. and Joseph Franklin Wilson, ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 AM Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Riles Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Curtis officiating..burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.Visitation will be from 9 AM until the hour of service.Pallbearers will be Joshua Brandon Wilson, Jordan Blake Wilson, Brad Wilson, Shane Wilson, Brian Huffty, and Travis Smith.Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Pedroche, Jerry Bellinger, Chandler Bonelli, and the men of Warrenton Independent Baptist Church.
His family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Warrenton Independent Baptist Church, 829 Belva Drive, Vicksburg, MS39180.
