Janet Marjorie Papa died Thursday, November 24, 2022 at  Brookdale Assisted Living in Clinton, MS.  She was 86.  A native of Luton, England, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Marjorie Markham. She married Gary Frederick Papa in 1953 and began her journey as an Air Force wife, living in many different parts of the world. They settled in Vicksburg in 1978 after Gary's retirement.  She was a Christian and was saved and baptized in February 2001 at Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Gary Papa.

She is survived by her two twin daughters, Joanne Papa of Brandon, MS and Susanne Papa of Cary, NC; four grandchildren:  Jacob Kimball (Morgan), Jordan Kimball, Sara Dolansky (Jonathan) and Erin Papa; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 26 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue.  Visitation will be from Noon until the hour of service.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.act.alz.org
