John William Jones died December 25, 2018 at his home in Foley, AL.  He was 77.  Born in Vicksburg, MS he was the son of the late Sam Jones and Mary Katherine Delkerscamp Jones.  John  was a 1961 graduate of H.V. Cooper High School where he was All Big Eight Center for the Greenies football team.  He attended Mississippi State University.  John was proud of his 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.  After retiring from Cooper Industries with 35 years service, he enjoyed fishing, coon hunting and working in his yard.  He and his wife Judith moved to Foley, AL in 2014.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Sidney Louise (Judy) Johns, Ruby Lorraine Davenport; brothers, George Samuel (Sambo) Jones, Dudley Lee Jones.  John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith McCary Jones of Foley, AL; sisters, Sally Ann Thomas of Bay St. Louis, MS, Mary Kay White of Vicksburg; brothers, Charles Larry Jones (Debbie) of Vicksburg, MS, Robert Louis Jones (Gayle) of Prairieville, LA; numerous nieces and nephews.  Graveside services for family and friends will be held in Vicksburg, MS at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16  at  Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home.
