June 5, 1953 – February 27, 2024
John Thomas Lott ,Jr age 70 passed away February 27 2024.
He was a 1971 graduate of Warren Central High School. He served 20 years in the US Army. He served in various US states, Thailand, Germany, Korea, and Saudi Arabia ( Desert Storm ). He retired in 1992 and moved back to Vicksburg. He worked for ARA before moving to ERDC retiring in 2015.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Lott, Sr., brother Cecil, and sister Glenda Ann. He is survived by wife of 47 years Wanda Galbreath Lott and children Buddy, Kaycee, and Sean. He has grandkids Kyle Lott , Kurt Lott, Holden Sherard, and Ash Kackley. He is survived by mother Annie Bowers Lott, sister Cindy Pettway, and sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Steve Smelly. He is survived by 2 sisters-in-law Sue Brown and Laura Strickland. He has numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves behind two 4 legged babies Pepe le Pew and Fiona Mae. He is also survived by special friends William Day and Dorothy Wells and her family.
Throughout the years of his life, he demonstrated a robust sensor of humor, a love of reading, a love of learning, dedication to a job well-done, and willingness to help others. He would entertain large groups of people with jokes and funny stories of military life and growing up in
the south.
He loved entertaining his many doctors and nurses with pranks, jokes, and stories
while they treated him.We would like to thank all the people at Center Well for all the assistance they gave to us.
