Obituary

Johnnie Frances Faust Lee, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away surrounded by love and family. She was born in Lake, Mississippi, to John J. and Leora Palmer Faust and raised in Shubuta, MS. Johnnie pursued higher education in Jackson, MS, earning a degree in business from Draughon's Business College. It was there she met the love of her life, Billy (Bill) Ray Lee. The two married in 1953 and built a life filled with love, raising six children—including two sets of twins.

From 1957 to 1983, Johnnie and her family made their home in Vicksburg, MS, where she was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In 1983, the family relocated to Utica, MS, where she became an active and cherished member of Utica Baptist Church.

Johnnie was a woman of deep faith, kindness, and boundless generosity. Her heart and home were always open—offering food, shelter, and love to anyone in need. Her sweet spirit, gentle nature, and loving presence were immediately felt by all who knew her. In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing, riding motorcycles, and playing the piano by ear—bringing joy to those around her in all that she did.

She retired in 1993 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi River Commission, after a distinguished career marked by several recognitions and lasting friendships that continued well into her retirement years.

Johnnie is survived by five of her children: Dianne Schaub (Doug), Donny Lee (Shana), Doyle Lee, Deborah Stokes (Marty), and Dorothy Lee; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Lee; her parents, John and Leora Faust; her sister, Sue Worsham; and her son, Danny Lee.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7 from Noon until 2 p.m. at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue with services to follow.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Baptist Hospital ICU staff and Dr. Jeffery LeDuff for their compassionate care during her illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Utica Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.

Johnnie's legacy of unconditional love, unwavering faith, and selfless kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her in the 94 years of a very blessed long life.
