Johnny Wayne Lowery, 74 of Vicksburg, MS passed away June 7,2024. Born June 6,1950 in Vicksburg, MS to Edward and Elizabeth Lowery.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Potter Lowery; two children, Tracie Lowery, Cayce Lowery (Jessica); two grandchildren, Scott Lowery and Luke Lowery. He is also survived by sisters, Joanna Rivers of Satartia, MS, Shirley Ingle (Robert) of Richland, MS, Sandra Lowery (Mike Outlaw) of Belzoni, MS and sister-in-law, Capri Lowery. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elizabeth Lowery and brother, Rickey Lowery.
He grew up in Holly Bluff, MS moved to Vicksburg to work for MS Highway Department for ten years, LeTourneau for four years and then he was a general contractor in Vicksburg, MS for 40 years. He was an active member of the Masonic lodge including W.H. Stevens Lodge #121, W.G. Paxton Lodge #559 and Hyland-Jarman Lodge #113. He was also a member of York Rite Bodies of MS, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and Knight of the York Cross of Honour.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Noon at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Ave. Visitation will be from 10 am until the hour of service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ramey Williams, Brandon Daffron, Sr., John Sessums, Sr., John Sessums, Jr., Lee Giffin and all members of the Vicksburg Masonic Lodges.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations may be made to the Shriners Children Hospitals
