Laura Joann "Jo" O'Neal Furr died Monday, December 14, 2020. She was 89. She was born September 20, 1931 in Yuma, AZ and lived in Texas, California and Colorado. She worked as a bookkeeper for Western Auto and beauty salons that her mother owned in El Paso, TX.  She was manager of a restaurant and lounge in Canon City, CO before retiring to Vicksburg to be a full time Nana in 1995. She was a member of St. George Orthodox Church and was an active member of the Women of St. George.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Jean O'Neal, husband Robert D. Furr, son, Darrell Ogan and grandson, Elton Ogan. She is survived by sons Don (Katia) Ogan of Grant's Pass, OR, Fr. David (Conccetta) Ogan of Nashville, TN and a daughter, Lori (Jeff) West of Vicksburg, MS. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren – Angela Ogan, Kerry Crispin, Hayley James, Timothy Ogan, Bradley Ogan, Scott Ogan, Dan Ogan, Nina Calvert, Jori Whitley, Jacki West, Vlad Ogan, and Joanna Ogan, eighteen great-grandchildren, her best friend (and sister of her heart) Dolores Nosser, and a half-sister Donna Grigsby.

Jo had a wonderful sense of humor and always looked for something to laugh about during the hardest of times. She was a strong woman and overcame many difficulties in her life. She loved her family and was proud to have so many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church.  Visitation will be from 12:30 until the hour of service at the church.    Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Fisher-Riles Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Don Ogan, Father David Ogan, Jeff West, Brian West, Gary Thomas, Mickey Fedell and Rick Hardy.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dobie Nosser, Greg Thomas and Wayne Thorton.
