Lawrence (Larry) Dofflemyer Melvin died June 7, 2021 at the Bluffs Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Vicksburg after an 8 year battle with cancer. He was 68.  Born in Tennessee, Larry grew up in El Paso, Texas and lived the past 25 years in Jackson, Mississippi. He was an avid sports enthusiast and motorcycle rider. He worked in retail and for the past 8 years was a loved team member of the Tractor Supply Co. in Clinton, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Melvin and Rebecca Flick Melvin. He is survived by his 5 sisters: Pennye, Amelia, Helen, Elizabeth, and Deanna; 2 brothers: John and Peter; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Fisher Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue,  on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2 p.m.
