Leon "Dewayne" Kennedy Sr., son of the late Leon Sylvester Kennedy and Mildred "June" Kennedy went peacefully to join his Savior December 3, 2022 while home in his bed. He was 61.
Dewayne both worked and played in the automotive field, repairing trucks and vehicles for paying customers by day, and improving upon those he owned and ran in the mud races during the evenings. He lived a life full of passion. Passion for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Passion for those he loved. Passion for the work he did, and passion for those things that brought him joy.
Dewayne enjoyed spending time fishing on his beloved Mississippi River, deer hunting, devoting himself to his grandchildren, and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. No one ever left his home with an empty belly.
Dewayne leaves behind three children: daughter, LaAshley Dawn Worrell (Victor Worrell), son, Leon Dewayne Kennedy Jr. (Kerri Perkins), and daughter, Savannah Leighanne Kennedy. He leaves behind six treasured grandchildren: Lyndsee Jordan, Mikey Turner, Jason Kennedy, VJ Worrell, Angelica Worrell and Klaus Ouzts. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Dewayne has seven siblings that remain behind to love and cherish his memory: Perry Kennedy (Tammy Kennedy), Todd Kennedy, Pam Mitchell (Greg Mitchell), Dan Kennedy (Shannon Kennedy), Denise Strobel (Darin Strobel), Lisa Ainsworth and Dena Williams (Scott Williams).
Also preceding him in death is the loving mother of his two eldest children, Lisa Dawn Kennedy.
In remembrance and celebration of the life of Leon Dewayne Kennedy Sr., a memorial service will be held 2pm at Life Church, 2918 Fisher Ferry Road,
