Madgalene Francis Brown passed away peacefully Monday March 24, 2025 at the age of 92.

Born in Roanoke, Va. March 6, 1933 to Oliver and Hattie Martin. She had two brothers, Clarence and Wally both of which loved and aggravated her to no end. It was Wally that introduced Francis to her future husband John Brown. Together John and "Fran" had three sons; Stephen Doyle, Barry Neil, and Andrew Vernon Brown.
Fran was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing tournaments. Many of her dearest friends were met on the golf course from Virginia to Mississippi. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and also enjoyed helping the ladies on Goldie's softball team. She worked at Vicksburg hospital in medical records for more than 20 years. She would boast that she could keep three Dr. Pierces in line at one time. Her time after retirement was centered around family and the Vicksburg Senior Center which became a second home. There she played cards and dominoes with no mercy for her opponents.

Fran loved her family dearly. She is survived by her two sons Stephen {Catherine} and Andrew {Teresa} Brown. Also, by her dearest friend, confidant, and daughter she always wished for Barbara Smith {Cam}. To whom the Brown family shall always be indebted for her love and kindness.
Fran has two grandsons Michael White and Alexander Brown who brought her great happiness and much like her brothers a bit of aggravation.
Fran was delighted to find out she was great grandmother to Alyanna White. Her favorite saying for grandchildren is that she loved them to the moon and back.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Vicksburg Senior Center at 801 South St. from 2-4 pm July 14th.
