Madonna King
Bliss
April 23, 1950 – February 15, 2022
Madonna King Bliss, age 71 of Vicksburg, MS departed this life to join Our Heavenly Father on February 15, 2022. Beloved daughter of Robert Clifton King, Jr and Eunice Lavecchia King, Donna shared her exuberant smiles and joyful love to all she met.
Named for Madonna the Mother of Jesus, she was a devout Christian and a true devotee of His Blessed Mother. Donna's morning always began with the Holy Mass and Rosary and was most frequently joined by her husband in prayer. One of her nieces shared that when she was with her Aunt Donna at Rosary prayer time, she was given Mardi Gras beads to pray along with her aunt. All who knew Donna for any length of time knew she lived her Catholic faith to the fullest.
Madonna was preceded in death by both parents, her sister Barbara K. Davenport, her niece Cynthia Gwen Gordon, and her 'nother parents Buddy and Dokie Salmon.
Donna is survived by her loving husband, Ural (Bubba) Bliss; her sons Robert D. Bliss of Vicksburg, MS and S. Michael Bliss (Michelle) of Baltimore MD; her greatest delight and joy her grandchildren Trevor, Samantha, Conor, Vanessa and Jackie; numerous great-grands; sisters Dolly (Wayne), Susan (Floyd), Dorothy (Larry), and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Donna had another special group of dear friends that she lovingly referred to as her "deer-camp family". And for many years, she and Bubba loved the Saints and had season tickets.
A graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy, class of '68, she went on to receive her Computer Science Degree from Hinds Community College. After course completion, she worked as Department Head of Computing and Programming at Vicksburg Hospital until retirement.
Donna faced her decline in health with courage, dignity and trust in the Lord. She is a beautiful role model for all.
We all love and will miss you our sweet China Doll.
