Margaret Annez "Ann" Womack Gore died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 91.
Born in Magee, MS, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Stanley Womack and Lillia Mae Turner Womack. Mrs. Gore was a graduate of Central High School in the Class of 1951. She received her Associates Degree from Hinds Junior College in 1953.
Mrs. Gore was a loving mother who raised 4 children while working side by side with her husband at Gore's Hardware Company, volunteering at St. Francis Xavier Academy, and serving in various positions in The Salvation Army Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gore, Jr.; parents, Clyde S. Womack and Lillia Turner Womack; sister, Doris Womack Harwood; and brothers, Clyde Stanley Womack, Jr., Hoyt Lee Womack, and Royce Scott Womack.
She is survived by her son, Charles Gore, III (Shelia); daughters, Debra Biedenharn, Theresa DeRossette (James), Lisa Knox (Richard); 9 grandchildren, Elaine Biedenharn Gonzalez, Kristen DeRossette Nosser, Jared DeRossette, Monica DeRossette, Jay Webb, Erica Gore, Courtney Gore, Jason Knox, and Chris Knox; several great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine Womack Barengo of Loveland, CO; brothers, Bob Womack of Clinton, MS, Douglas Womack of Lafayette, LA, and Sam Womack of Metairie, LA, and their families.
The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice, Vicksburg Convalescent Home, Coffie Paramedical Service, Heritage House Retirement Center, and Belmont Gardens Personal Care Home for their kindness and gentle care given to Mrs. Gore.
Visitation will be at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue, Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, from 5:30pm-7:00 pm.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11:00 am Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church with
Father Vincent, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard Knox, Jason Knox, Chris Knox, James DeRossette, Jared DeRossette, and Jay Webb.
