Obituary

Marolyn Dean Lord passed away peacefully in her home on January 27th surrounded by loved ones. She resided in Vicksburg, MS for 24 years, and prior to that she lived in Delta, Louisiana where she made a loving home and raised two daughters.

She is survived by her children, Mildred Elizabeth Lord of Vicksburg, MS and Jessica Ruth Solomon (Tommy) of Anderson, IN; one brother, Homer Dean (Betty); three sisters, Jeannette Sansone (Santo) of Powder Springs, GA, Beverly Sims (Joe) of Saint Francisville, LA, and Sylvia Dean of Wells, Nevada; one grandson Jeffery Money.

She was born October 20, 1949, to Mildred B Dean and Edwin P Dean. She was the 5th of 8 children. In her early years, she was a hard worker, always helping her parents as much as she could, a loving sibling, caring for them, and an all-around good and faithful woman. She later married and had two daughters and that same passion that she had for caring for her siblings and helping her parents turned into caring for, raising, and loving her daughters immensely. Being the backbone of the family must have come naturally for her. While she poured into her family, she was also an active member of Mounds Baptist Church and a vital part of its church family. She seemed to find a family wherever she was because she had an amazing work family that she loved, and they loved her just as much. Marolyn was a private person, keeping things so close to her chest, so this is intentionally kept short and sweet, while thoughtfully touching on the subjects that we feel mattered the most to her… her faith, her family, her career, her friends, all these things she poured into on days when her cup was full and just as much on days when her cup was empty. A mother to everyone, so many will miss her loving kindness, but we know that because of her, we have all been changed for good.
