Marvin Prentiss Dampier, Sr. of Vicksburg  passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Merit-Health River Region Medical Center.  He was 67.  He was the son of Marvin E. Dampier and Effie A. Dampier.  Marvin worked throughout  his life in sales of automobile parts and appliance parts.  Marvin enjoyed many hobbies including his love for music and antique cars and trucks.  He also love his beloved dog "Patches".  Marvin was a member of First Pentecostal Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jo Dampier; sisters, Joyce Hollingsworth and Wanda Callen.  Survivors include his children, Shelia Perry and Marvin P. "Bubba" Dampier, Jr. both of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, Joshua Perry of Angier, NC; Kyle Perry of Clinton, MS, Devin Dampier of Oxford, MS, Lexie Dampier of Vicksburg; three great-grandchildren, Brady Perry, Greyson Perry and Camden Dampier; and a special friend, Paula Adams;  two sisters, Juanita Scott of Hudson, FL and Darlene Smith of Vidalia, LA.    Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Dathan Tipton officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Kyle Perry, Kenneth Chouccoli, Chase Chouccoli, Ricky Peterson, Ronnie Straite and Coot Callen.  Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Perry, Johnny Perry, Russell Melton, Devin Dampier, Robert Smith, John Callen and Encompass Home Health and Hospice employees, Terri Hendrix, Jennifer Smith, Katreno Neal, Lisa Childress and Jackie Walker.    The family would like to thank Encompass Home Health and Hospice for their loving care of Marvin.
