Obituary

Michael Edward Jacobs died on Monday, October 8, 2018 in Kansas City, MO.Mike was born on February 9, 1956. He was 62 years old.He was a graduate of Skyline High School in Dallas, TX and then served in the Air Force, later moving to Vicksburg to live near his family. He worked with the Corps of Engineers on the Mississippi River.In the early 1980's Mike moved to Tucson, AZ where he attended Pima Community College full time and worked as a manufacturing engineer at Burr-Brown, Inc.He married Rebecca S. Dunnaway in 1986.They moved from Tucson to Los Angeles and then, in 1990, moved to Olathe, KS, settling in Wyandotte County in 1995. Mike went to work as a truck salesman for Kansas City Peterbilt in December 2002, and was honored to be in the Top 100 Salesmen in May of 2018 for the Peterbilt Corporation.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Dunnaway Jacobs, two children, Kyle D. Jacobs (Megan) and Erin M. Jacobs;four grandchildren, Hannah, Rowan, Reese and Hadley;two sisters: Jill Jacobs and Diane Meyer (Jay ) and his father, Ret. Maj. Leon L. Jacobs, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Polly Park and his paternal grandparents, Leon L. Jacobs Sr. and Reinette Lewinthal Jacobs.

A Memorial Service will be conducted 11 am Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Anshe Chesed Cemetery. Visitation will be at Riles Funeral Home from 9:30am until the hour of the service. Memorials may be made to Temple Anshe Chesed, 2414 Grove Street, Vicksburg, MS 39183 and to The Central Mississippi Cancer Socirty, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213.
