Myrtis Davidson
Ford
November 28, 1925 – November 21, 2020
Myrtis Ford, Davidson died Nov 21, 2020. Myrtis was born Nov 28, 1925 in Bourbon, MS to Oscar Theo and Ethel McCullough Davidson. Myrtis retired from the Waterways Experiment Station in 1979. She attended Trinity Baptist Church.
She is survived by sons, H. G. Ford of Vicksburg, MS and Robert L. Ford (Caroline) of Tampa, FL.
Grandchildren are Brandon (Sandy) of Winston-Salem, NC , Wendy Dribben of Ladue, MO, Glen Ford (Julie) of Oswego, KS and Juniper Ford of Comert, GA
Great grands are Justin (Jason) of Salt Lake City, Aubrey, Chase and Eli of Ladue, MO, Bailey (Tyler) Eiffert of Fort Irwin, California and Otto and Emory Burrows of Comert, GA
Bonnie Sue Eiffert made Myrtis a Great-Great Grandmother and she delighted in every milestone and toothless grin.
Special thanks to longtime friends, Dani McAnany, Gary Pettway.
Myrtis was a country music enthusiast and was kiddingly chided as being a geriatric "groupie". She gleefully two stepped to every concert, Grand Ole Opry show and Branson Jubilee. When age and infirmity held her back, her grandson installed a smart tv with a YouTube country music playlist that kept her crooning to Conway Twitty, George Jones, Merle Haggart and all of her other great favorites. Toes tapping from her wheel chair and cheek to cheek with her dog, she "danced" swaying back and forth from her chair, singing along.
She excelled at gardening and took special pride in her butter beans and tomatoes, which every grandchild and great-grand loved to eat when visiting, laughingly sending pics to those who were not in attendance. Feeding her loved ones was a source of pride and she excelled at it.
Myrtis true loves were her faithful companions Sugar, Mocha and the Chippy's who crossed the Rainbow bridge before her and are now happily reunited. She gave no greater love, nor received any, excepting Christ, than her four legged children.
Myrtis final journey takes her to a place where love, laughter, music, dancing and Christ is guaranteed. She lived on her terms and was thrilled to leave when the Lord called her into his eternal care. We stand taller and stronger knowing that you are now watching over us.
