Obituary

Nancy Kohl Dolan, 96,  passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2026.

Born in Buffalo, New York, she had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1971. Mrs. Dolan was the daughter of the late Dr. John W. Kohl and Rush Ashton Kohl.

She was a 1947 graduate of St. Mary Seminary, a private high school for girls, in Buffalo. Mrs. Dolan received her associate degree in Science from Hinds Junior College and after taking the national accreditation exam received her degree as a Medical Record Analyst.

On April 22, 1950, she married Paul W. Dolan in St. Joseph's New Cathedral in Buffalo, NY.  They were married for 56 years prior to his death in 2006.

While living in Buffalo she was active in church and civic activities and in Vicksburg she was active in St. Paul Catholic Church where she served as a Lector and a three- year term as president of the Altar Society. Mrs. Dolan was an avid bridge player.

Mrs. Dolan was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her large family.

She is survived by three daughters: Maryann Artz (Waverley) of Vicksburg; Susan Williamson (Donald) of Louisa, VA; Karen Reed (Robert) of Pearl, MS. Three sons: Paul Dolan (Aggie) of Lakewood, CO; John Dolan and James Dolan of Vicksburg. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Waverley Artz III, Derek Dolan, Kelly Dolan, Sean Dolan, Jenna Artz Koestler, Megan Reed, Claire Trussell, Haley Dilmore, Karen Williamson, Kaitlyn Williamson, Kohl Williamson, and five great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister, Joan Kraus of Zebulon, NC.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Kohl, brother, John Kohl, and daughter-in-law, Debbie Dolan (James).

Visitation will be held at 10 am on Friday, February 13 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue followed by services at 11 am with the Rev. Robert Dore officiating in the chapel.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers  are Derek Dolan, Sean Dolan, Jerry Boland, Todd Downey, Peter Mims, and Jared McCann.

The family gratefully acknowledges Gentiva Hospice and 24/7 Caregivers, LLC for the devoted and gentle care provided to Mrs. Dolan.
