Obituary

Norma "Betty" Logue passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at her home. She was 80. Betty was the daughter of the late John T. and Martha Suhr of Nebraska.In 1953, she moved to Vicksburg and attended Nursing Schoolat the Vicksburg Hospital. Betty married Robert Archie "R.A." Logue in 1954 and became an active military wife for 23 years, traveling the United States and Europe. She worked at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon moving back to Vicksburg, Betty was employed with Waterways Experiment Station as a Contract Officer with 20 years of service. She received numerous awards including the Department of Army Commander Award for Civilian Service, the Family Volunteer of the Year for family services by Deputy Base Commander, Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan. Betty was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Clinton, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elinor Sunderman, and Naomi Bartels. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Robert Archie "R.A." Logue of Vicksburg; two daughters, Lynne Myers (Emmitt) of Vicksburg, and Rebecca Carter of Tampa, FL; one son, Bob Logue(Lynn) of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Strassburg; and one brother, David Suhr. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Clinton. Memorial donations may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1799 Clinton-Raymond Road, Clinton, MS., 39056-9622.
