January 15, 1942 – December 19, 2020
Norman D Browning died Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Merit Health River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 78. Born in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, he grew up in Texas, and had been a resident of Valley Park for most of his adult life. He graduated from Rolling Fork High School in 1962. He was a retired farmer and welder. He was a member of Valley Park Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His passion was being a cowboy, roping, and horses, but most of all he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Ruth Taylor Browning; two sisters, Jeanne Owen and Annie Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Whitten Browning of Valley Park; two daughters, Brenda Browning of Valley Park and Donna Grady (Louis) of Tallulah, LA; four grandchildren: Rebecca Chick Pace (Beau) of Madison, MS , Justin Welch of Valley Park, MS, Robert Keith Grady of Tallulah, LA, and Wade Grady (Jessica) of Madison, MS; and two great-grandchildren, Samuel and Miriam Pace; two sisters, Lola Waldrep of West Columbia, TX and Peggy Wilkins of Franklin, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Valley Park Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ronald Purser officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin Welch, Louis Grady, Beau Pace, J.E. Wilkins, Richard Sanders, Eddie Hatcher, and Kemper Strickland. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Welch, Scott Chick, Billy Whitten, Larry Whitten, Jerry Robin, Doc Alexander, Roger Heigle, Charles Shields, David Wansley, Kenneth Tatum, Matt Sanders and all his nieces, nephews, and roping buddies.
