On October 25, 2023, Oscar Charles Dougherty, Sr. passed away at the age of 78 in Vicksburg, MS.

Oscar, born on October 11, 1945, was the second of eleven children born to Carmen Smith Andrews and the late Charles Wilson Dougherty.  Oscar served our country proudly and faithfully in the United States Navy right out of high school.  He was retired from Letourneau and was a Member of Wayside Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.

He loved God and his family above all.  He loved spending time with family and friends, loved to laugh and was a pretty good prankster.  He enjoyed anything outdoors, was an avid hunter, but enjoyed fishing the most.

He is survived by the love of his life, best friend and wife of 59 years, Jo Ann Dougherty; three sons, Oscar C. Dougherty Jr. (Shari), Steven G. Dougherty, and Joseph N. Dougherty (Jennifer); sisters Zita Williams; Julie Richardson (Mack), Frances Romedy (Randall), Lita Edwards (Gary), Penny Eichwurtzle (Douglas), brothers William J Dougherty (Jewel) and Ray Dougherty (Gale), Grandchildren Julia Ann Spears (Zach), Alexander N. Dougherty, Bailey Bui, Bradley J. Dougherty, and Allison Schoneman (Chris) and two great-grandchildren Annabelle M. Schoneman and Ember Rose Spears along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his daughter Carma Jo Dougherty, Brothers Karl Dougherty and Rusty Dougherty and sister Tina Dougherty.

Pallbearers  are Joe Calhoun, Jay Dougherty, Kevin Dougherty, Christopher Eichwurtzle, Leland Haggard, Jake Kirby, Wayne Muirhead, and Joe Richardson.

Services will be at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue in  Vicksburg, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 28  from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by service at 11:00 AM.

Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Vicksburg, MS.
