Obituary

On March 20, 1970, Park Benjamin Rogers was born in Vicksburg, MS, and after struggling long enough he went to Heaven on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his father Dan Rogers of Crystal Springs, his maternal grandparents Dell Ross Pyron and Willie Fletcher Pyron of Indianola, and his paternal grandparents Clennie Wiggins Rogers and Waverly Conrad Rogers of Crystal Springs.

He attended Warren Central High School.  He loved traveling with his Mother and visiting with his extended family and many friends.  He was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

Friends  of Park remembered him in many ways:

"I have known him since his birth and always admired his positive attitude, kindness, and friendly heart-warming smile."

"Park sparked joy when he entered a room.  I can just imagine how Heaven lit up with his entry."

They always used these words when remembering Park:  "kind soul, sweetheart, kind heart and big smile, always loved Park, always so personable and kind, sweet Park."

"It is sad.  We had some good times.  I loved him so very much.  My parents adored him and he came to visit my Father."

"He brought joy to all who knew him.  Go soar with the Angels in Heaven, Buddy."

"To know him was to love him."

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Dell Pyron Rogers, his sisters Elizabeth Rogers Whittington (Doug) of Vicksburg, and Stacie Sudderth (Ken) of Pennsylvania, his brother Jordan Rogers of Mobile, AL, his most precious nephew Wil Whittington, and special great aunt Hazel Watson Penn of Carrolton, MS.  His honorary pallbearers are Chip Bryant, Fred Butler, Chris Fink, Jimmy Jones, Harvey Hester, Johnny Lynn, Keith Rankin, and Steve Roland.

The family wishes to thank the excellent staff of Shady Lawn Nursing Home and the University of Mississippi Medical Center for their care of Park for over forty years.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date with the burial in Indianola Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Crawford Street United Methodist Church, National Neurofibromatosis Foundation, or charity of your choice.

Fisher-Riles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
